The History of Hoaxlines Lab

Hoaxlines Lab is a project researching media manipulation and unethical efforts to influence the public. Novel Science is the larger project under which we have had the COVID Dashboard, Ukraine Dashboard, and Hoaxlines Lab. Our mission is to provide real-time alerts, translate our findings into actionable policy recommendations, and develop resources that empower the public to confront information disorder.

Our work has been cited by national media, journalists, international fact-checking websites, advocacy groups, and expert resources. We accept no funding, have no grants, make no profit, and are exclusively volunteer-operated.
